HEM 582 R Truck

The original: mobile, performance-based & cost-effective chipping

Advanced logistical concept:

Mobile chippers are normally powered via the PTO shaft of a tractor or a fitted engine. The Chippertruck, in contrast, has the chipper mounted on the lorry and is powered by the lorry engine.

Operating range:

■ Intended to be used for the highpowered chipping of whole trees up to 560 mm in diameter, as well as for forest residue and cut shrubbery. Different work locations can be reached quickly due to the MAN carrier vehicle.

Complete solution from a single source:

■ The most cost-effective product in its category due to the perfectly matched components.

■ One drive engine for chipping and travel purposes: An optimum degree of cost-efficiency results from using a single powerful drive engine for both chipping operation and travelling.

■ Perfect balance between capacity and mobility. A low machine weight
(less than 24 t) means that the amount of chips loaded can be increased
by approx. 35 to 40 loose cubic metres.

■ Logistical advantage due to high degree of mobility (motorway speeds of up to 80 km/h).

■ Lowest fuel consumption rate of its category.

■ Low tyre wear due to steerable rear axle.

■ Wheelbase of 3,600 mm between 1st and 2nd axle.

■ Good manoeuvring properties on narrow terrain due to extremely small turning circle (16.6 m).

■ Good environmental performance due to the use of diesel engines conforming to Euro-5 emission specifications.

■ Standard outfeed blower transfers processed material to large vehicles with a high degree of precision.

■ Outstanding range of configuration options for tailored perfection:

■ The JENZ Chippertruck is manufactured along with the powerful HEM 582 R mobile chipper. The segregation area, which has been increased by 30%, ensures the highest possible throughput rates. The lengths of time needed for tool changes and setting up for operation are short due to the hydraulic locks of the table and the tool-free changing of the screen basket (by the innovative hydromechanical system acting at the screen basket cover).
Optimum operation of the machine can be achieved via the state-of-the-art easygreen control system.

■ Various MAN base vehicles available: MAN TGS 6x4-4 BL or 6x6 BB

■ Engine power: 397 kW (540 hp) or 353 kW (480 hp).

■ As an alternative to the “XL cab”, the vehicle can also be manufactured with a shorter “M cab” and a separate crane cab that is adjustable in height. This provides the operator with good all-round visibility of the work area.

■ “XL cab”: The cab has been specifically modified by MAN on the passenger’s
side, with glazing suitable for mowing applications. A comfortable swivel seat, two ergonomically designed joysticks and soundproofing create a workplace, where high standards for seating comfort, ergonomy and safety are satisfied.

■ An EPSILON crane (of type M110L 97), with a maximum range of 9.7 m and a net load torque of 82.5 kNm at an operating pressure of 190 bar, is provided as standard.

■ An EPSILON crane (of type M120L 97), with a maximum range of 9.7 m and a net load torque of 90 kNm at an operating pressure of 200 bar, is fitted as standard.

■ On top of the series production model, various types of loading cranes with
different ranges and a net lifting torque of up to 145 kNm can be supplied.

Innovative technology that meets the highest demands:

Using a conveyor belt significantly reduces the levels of noise and dust emission at the machine, and makesit possible to process materials in places where previously this would only have been only achievable with the greatest difficulty. The belt can be laterally swivelled through an angle of up to 170° and can be vertically adjusted, with a maximum ejection height of 5 metres. Compared to the case where an ejection blower is
used, chips delivered by a conveyor belt have fewer fine particles, and for the machine there is a significant reduction in fuel consumption and power, with the machine being subjected to more gentle loads.

The optional hydrostatic traction drive unit with electrohydraulic remote steering and an associated maximum travel speed of 3.5 km/h enables stacks of long logs and material at construction sites to be processed efficiently, without any
delays.

The solid 4-point support ensures a high degree of stability during operation.
