HEM 820 w. double engine

The Chippertruck with dual-drive system:

■ Four-axle chipper lorries with dualengine systems are available for the HEM 820.

■ Machines with dual-engine systems use the engine of the lorry to power the loading crane and to discharge material

■ Power is transferred from the lorry engine by mechanical or hydraulic means. All the power of the chipper engine can be used to drive the cutting drum only.

■ The combined driving power amounts to more than 735 kW (1000 hp).

■ With the four-axle chassis it is possible to mount the DQ and DL models provided that the total weight does not exceed the technically permissible value of 35 t.

■ Use of an optional universal joint shaft can significantly increase the power of mobile chippers used with trailers with drawbars. Here the tractor engine acts as a drive unit for the fan.

Winning high-tech features:

■ The combined power of both engines enables extremely high throughput
rates. The deployment of the traction engine of the lorry is especially costeffective,
since this is also used for transportation purposes.

■ Exceptional mobility stems from using a four-axle chassis, particular one with a steered rear axle.
