Social Commitment

The Friedewalde primary school on a field trip to the Biological Station
Sewers in Tanzania
The stork couple of Wegholm

As a family company in the third-generation with strong roots and a 100-year history, we consider ourselves to be an active part of society in the Minden-Lübbecke region. It has been a matter of course for us to engage ourselves for social purposes in the interests of the common good for decades now.

We are therefore particularly pleased that the foundation Zukunftspreis Handwerk OWL has awarded us the Zukunftspreis Handwerk 2020 in the category "Special Social Commitment". The foundation put the award under the motto "Securing young talent in vocational training" that year.

We support projects, clubs or schools through donations or practical help. At this point we would like to single out a few specific projects. In times of climate change and demographic changes - especially in rural areas - environmental and educational projects are particularly important to us.

We have therefore been happy to support the environmental education flat rate of the Eldagsen-Friedewalde primary school in cooperation with the Biological Station in Nordholz since 2014 and would like to make our contribution to maintaining the Friedwalde sub-location.

Education is also the focus of the sponsorship between the Protestant Church of Friedewalde and the Protestant Church community Shume in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. For many years we have been supporting a project in which young women are trained in sewing and can thus contribute to their livelihood.

We have also sponsored the "Save the White Storks" committee for years. In 2014, we took over an old special vehicle from the city of Petershagen and rebuilt it. To this day, our service department takes care of regular maintenance and repairs of the vehicle. This enables that controls of stork nests and populations in the region, including also the stork's nest in Wegholm, can be continued.

The working committee "Alte Synagoge Petershagen" has set itself the task of preserving the memory of the time of National Socialism and former extinct Jewish community of Petershagen. We condemn every form of racism and xenophobia in the strongest possible terms and therefore promote the preservation of the ensemble of the former synagogue, Jewish school and mikveh in Petershagen with its permanent exhibition as well as accompanying temporary exhibitions and cultural events.

We're also sporty. JENZ has been supporting popular sports at home for decades. Whether handball, football or running, e.g. as part of the Friedewalde Mühlenkreislauf - we are committed to supporting clubs and their many volunteers in their commitment and thus connecting the people in our region even more. The club van that we sponsored, which is centrally located at Autohaus Krause and can be used free of charge by the clubs in and around Petershagen, also contributes to this.
