The HEM 922 DQ is a powerful large chipper with cross-intake. It is equipped with an 812 hp Caterpillar auxiliary motor, a large intake height of 900 mm and aggressive intake behaviour. As a result, the JENZ chipper achieves high throughput values of up to 430 srm/h.

Thanks to the auxiliary motor, the HEM 922 DQ can be used independently of the towing vehicle. Highest efficiency due to hybrid technology. In this case, the chipper is driven via the auxiliary motor, while the blower is operated via the tractor PTO. 

Hydraulic discharge

The hydraulic fan can be controlled continuously and independently of the speed of the chipping rotor and can therefore optimally adapt to operating conditions. This ensures more even chip discharge and reduces the load on the hydraulic system. The reduced fan speed reduces the abrasion on the wood chips, which lowers the fines content.

maintenance system

The hydraulic screen basket cover of the HEM 922 DQ allows quick and easy access to the rotor. With the push of a button, the cover is opened without having to be screwed on or off. The screen basket can then be changed by crane, as it is freely accessible in the rotor cover. This makes manual lifting and carrying of the screen basket a thing of the past.


Everything needed for maintenance on the rotor is in the optional professional swivel toolbox located directly on the rotor. Included are an air connection, light and useful tools. Maintenance work is facilitated by the sufficient freedom of movement in the screen basket cover.

 Control System

The easy2 machine control system is clearly laid out, can be operated intuitively and offers a number of advantages that simplify everyday work. Almost all functions of the chipper can be individually set via the fully integrated easy2TOUCH display. For example, limit values can be defined or user profiles can be created.

Drum

Whether fine or coarse chips, the robust D1.2 cutting drum convinces with outstanding chip quality. The regrindable blades enable maximum economy and operational reliability. In addition, the high inertia of the D1.2 ensures very smooth running. This not only protects the drive train, but also leads to improved chip quality.

CFA
Draw-In Control System

The CFA and CFA2 intake controls automatically adjust the intake speed to ensure that the chipper is utilised evenly and in a way that is gentle on the machine, and that the wood chips are of optimum quality. CFA adjusts the infeed speed depending on the rotor speed. CFA2 adjusts the infeed speed depending on the opening angle of the upper roller.

Roller Pressure System

Due to the variable pre-load pressure of the upper roller, the chipper can adapt to any material. Shrub trimming, for example, requires a higher pressure, while logs are fed in almost without pressure. Thanks to its easy adjustment to respective requirements, the chipper works efficiently and achieves a consistent output.

Efficient 
screening technology

The innovative screen baskets reliably prevent excessive lengths with a minimum of fine particles. This is particularly noticeable in the processing of cut shrubbery, where the wood is often drawn in crosswise.

Smart 
Hydraulic

The CFA and CFA 2 intake control systems forward material-dependent information to the easy2 control system. The intelligent JENZ Smart Hydraulic system quickly and sensitively adjusts the intake speed. In addition, top roller pressure and the maximum intake speed can be set by the operator at the push of a button.

IPS Impact protection System

With the IPS (Impact Protection System), sensors detect inadmissible vibrations caused by foreign bodies such as stones or iron parts. The system activates a protection programme that, for example, stops material discharge in 0.8 seconds. This protects the machine from expensive consequential damage and reduces unplanned downtime to a minimum.
